Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, who endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas for president after dropping her own 2016 bid, is being vetted by the Cruz campaign as a possible vice presidential pick.

Mrs. Fiorina endorsed Mr. Cruz last month after ending her own presidential bid shortly following the New Hampshire primary in February. She has since appeared with Mr. Cruz on the campaign trail and has aimed her fire at both Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton and GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

Asked about a possible vice presidential pick in a radio interview on Tuesday, Mr. Cruz confirmed the vetting process has started but said no decisions have been made on who the pick will be or when the selection could be announced.

“It is true that we have begun seriously the process of vetting potential vice presidential candidates,” Mr. Cruz said on “The Glenn Beck Program.” “We’re less than a hundred days out from the convention, and any serious presidential candidate needs to be doing the hard work of vetting the potential candidates and assessing them, and we’re in the process of doing that.”

“No decision has been made as to who the vice presidential nominee will be, and no decision has been made on timing,” Mr. Cruz said.
