Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump mocked rival John Kasich’s “disgusting” eating habits Monday during a rally in Rhode Island.

Mr. Kasich’s eating style came up as Mr. Trump slammed the Ohio governor for teaming up with Sen. Ted Cruz to block Mr. Trump from gaining the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim to GOP nomination.

“Did you see him? He has a news conference, all the time when he’s eating. I have never seen a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion,” Mr. Trump told the cheering crowd, The Hill reported.

“I’m always telling my young son Baron, always with my kids, all of them, I say, ’Children, small, little bites,” Mr. Trump said.

“This guy takes a pancake and he’s shoving it in his mouth,” he said of Mr. Kasich during his recent food tour of New York. “Do you want that for your president? I don’t think so. Honestly, it’s disgusting.”

Mr. Kasich’s campaign shot back at Mr. Trump shortly after the comments.

“.@RealDonaldTrump, we were looking for some Trump steaks for the governor, but no one seems to sell them anymore,” Team Kasich tweeted Monday, including a photo of Mr. Trump eating.
