Legendary former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight will join Donald Trump this week at an Indianapolis rally, the GOP front-runner’s campaign announced Monday.
The two will appear onstage together Wednesday at Indiana Farmer’s Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds ahead of the May 3 primary.
Mr. Trump called Mr. Knight a “great coach” on Saturday during a campaign rally in Connecticut, The Hill reported.
“Tough, smart, strong,” Mr. Trump said of the former Hoosiers coach. “To me, that would be a great endorsement.”
Mr. Trump’s second Indiana appearance comes as Republicans Ted Cruz and John Kasich announced plans to team up and block him from gaining the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim to GOP nomination.
