OPINION:
Once again, Hillary Clinton has been busy pandering her days away in hopes of becoming the next leader of the free world.
However, her attempts backfired on her after she recently crossed the line, awkwardly using a black stereotype during an interview with Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” New York’s staple hip-hop and R&B radio morning show.
“What’s something you always carry with you?” Power 105.1’s Angela Yee asked the former secretary of state during the interview.
“Hot sauce,” Mrs. Clinton replied in a clear attempt to pander to the morning show’s black audience.
Ms. Yee was speechless and unable to hide her shock and disgust as she stared back and forth between Mrs. Clinton and the camera.
Meanwhile, Ms. Yee’s co-host, Charlamagne Tha God, called out Mrs. Clinton, saying, “People are gonna see this and say, ’OK, she’s pandering to black people.’ “
“OK, is it working?” Mrs. Clinton asked him before beginning a fumbling attempt at recovery.
Likely, this did not come as a surprise to Charlamagne, who has long been skeptical of Mrs. Clinton’s pandering, naming her “Donkey of the Day” back in January for her inauthentic efforts to reach black voters.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke also spoke out against Mrs. Clinton’s comments this week, telling Fox News, “I’m surprised she didn’t say watermelon — just go all the way in. This stuff is dehumanizing. It’s embarrassing. It’s disgusting. And if any other candidate were to say something like that, some stereotype about black people, it would derail their campaign. But the rules seem to be different for the Clintons.”
GOP front-runner Donald Trump was similarly unconvinced of Mrs. Clinton’s carrying of hot sauce at all times.
“It’s the same thing that she always does. She carries hot sauce like I carry hot sauce. I just, I don’t know, it’s just so phony and so pandering and so terrible,” he told Fox News on Tuesday.
Sheriff Clarke and Mr. Trump are right.
Her answer was nothing more than an insincere and failed attempt to pander to Power 105.1’s black listeners.
In fact, Mrs. Clinton’s use of a racial stereotype to answer what should have been a fun and simple question was flat out wrong and would certainly have destroyed any conservative candidate.
Where are the outraged social justice warriors and the fuming media when we need them?
Of course, they are nowhere to be found when Mrs. Clinton is at fault, continually turning a blind eye to her disingenuous comments and actions.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Clinton continues to pander and pander away.
