GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump has expanded his lead ahead of Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary, according to a new survey of registered Republican voters.
A Franklin and Marshall College Poll shows Mr. Trump coming in at 36 percent followed by Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, 26 percent, and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, 24 percent.
Among likely voters, Mr. Trump’s lead is larger. The survey also shows he has the most dedicated supporters.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is leading on the Democratic side by a 55 percent to 29 percent margin over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Mr. Trump is hoping that the momentum he is carrying out of his landslide victory in the New York primary will boost his chances in Tuesday’s contests in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland and Rhode Island on Tuesday.
Polls show he is leading in each state.
His rivals and the #NeverTrump movement, meanwhile, are scrambling to stop him from reaching the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the nomination and have laid out road maps for voters on where Mr. Trump is most vulnerable, and where they are most likely to deny him delegates.
