The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, better known to Americans as Prince William and his wife Kate, will host President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama for dinner Friday.
William’s brother, Prince Harry, also will host the dinner at Kensington Palace, the palace said in a statement Monday.
The president will have lunch with Queen Elizabeth II for her 90th birthday during the visit, and Mr. Obama also will meet with Prime Minister David Cameron. The trip is an opportunity for Mr. Obama to smooth over relations with Mr. Cameron after criticizing him publicly for neglecting Libya after the allies helped to oust Col. Moammar Gadhafi in 2011.
Many Britons also are irritated with Mr. Obama for urging them to remain in the European Union ahead of a referendum in June.
