Ohio Gov. John Kasich says he’s not going to be anybody’s vice president, and beyond that, he would be a historically bad one.
“I’m not going to be anybody’s vice president,” Mr. Kasich said at a CNN town hall Monday evening. “I would be the worst vice president the country ever saw. You know why? Because I’m not like a vice president. I’m a president.”
“Look, I’m running for the top job. And if I don’t get the top job, OK, I’m still governor of Ohio,” he said.
Mr. Kasich is behind businessman Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz in the delegate count in the GOP presidential primary contest, but he is predicting delegates at an open Republican convention in July in his home state are going to look at his electability and record when settling on a candidate.
“Why would you pick somebody who can’t win in the fall?” he said.
