D.C. police have closed the Deanwood Metro in Northeast after a man was stabbed to death Monday morning inside the subway station, the second fatal incident at station in the past two weeks.

A police spokeswoman gave no details on whether anyone has been apprehended.

Metro trains are bypassing the Deanwood station in both directions as the investigation continues, D.C. police said. Officials could not say when the station would reopen.

The stabbing comes on the heels of a fatal shooting of a teenager at the Deanwood station on March 26.

Davonte Washington, 15, was standing on the Deanwood platform when the gunman approached him, police said. There was a brief exchange of words before the gunman opened fire on Davonte, who died of two gunshot wounds to the torso.

Maurice Bellamy, 17, was charged with second-degree murder while armed in Davonte’s death. He is to appear in court on April 22.
