In his presidential campaign’s first television ad, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush takes a shot at both “D.C. politicians” and “self-promoters” while highlighting his own record in Florida.
“We have an important choice to make about the direction of our country,” Mr. Bush says in the spot, which will start airing Wednesday, saying that if voters want “more D.C. politicians or more self-promoters,” they have options.
In contrast, he says he’s offering something different: “leadership, ideas and a proven conservative record,” going on to highlight his record as Florida governor on taxes, government spending and job creation.
“Anybody can talk — I’ve delivered,” he says. “And I hope to earn your support.”
Mr. Bush has lost some ground in recent polling on the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination and has been trying to find a way to offer clear distinctions between himself and GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump, the billionaire businessman.
The $500,000 buy will include Boston broadcast TV, WMUR, and statewide cable in New Hampshire and is set to run from Sept. 9-29. Fifteen percent of the initial placement will go toward targeted online advertising, his campaign said.
The ad was first reported on by Fox News.
