New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday he’s been impressed with what former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has been saying on the presidential campaign trail but that there are still some areas he’d like to know more about.

“Look, I am very impressed by what she’s saying, more and more,” Mr. de Blasio said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “And I said at the beginning, I felt a lot of people around this country … a lot of progressives felt we needed to get a sense of direction, particularly to address the income-inequality crisis. I think she has done a great job providing that vision.”

“There’s still some areas I’d like to know some more about, but I’ve been in conversations with her team, and I think they’re doing more and more to give people [a] compelling vision,” said Mr. de Blasio, the campaign manager for Mrs. Clinton’s successful 2000 run for U.S. Senate in New York.

Mr. de Blasio also called Mrs. Clinton an “extraordinary leader” and “arguably the most qualified person to ever run for the office of president.”

“I think it’s about the vision. I think that’s what people are listening for in the end,” he said.
