EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Washington Redskins inside linebacker Perry Riley is inactive for Thursday night’s game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
Riley injured his calf in Sunday’s 24-10 win against the St. Louis Rams and did not participate in practices this week. That leaves the Redskins with just three inside linebackers on Thursday: Keenan Robinson, Will Compton and Terrance Plummer. Martrell Spaight (concussion) was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.
Right tackle Tom Compton (bruised right calf) is active for the first time this season. The other six inactives are quarterback Robert Griffin III, wide receiver DeSean Jackson (strained left hamstring), cornerback Justin Rogers (plantar fasciitis), right guard Spencer Long, left guard Arie Kouandjio and defensive end Frank Kearse.
The Giants’ inactives are wide receiver Victor Cruz, left tackle Ereck Flowers, tight end Jerome Cunningham, defensive tackle Markus Kuhn, cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, defensive end Robert Ayers and defensive end Owa Odighizuwa.
Cruz, who hasn’t played since Week 6 of last season after tearing a patellar tendon, has a calf injury that is keeping him out.
Flowers, the Giants’ first-round draft pick, sustained an ankle injury in Week 1 and aggravated it last week against the Atlanta Falcons.
