Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said he raised more than $1 million in the 48 hours after last week’s GOP presidential debate in California.
Mr. Cruz said that in the 100 hours after the first GOP debate in August, his campaign raised more than $1 million.
“The second debate that just ended, we raised over a million dollars not in a hundred hours — in 48 hours, less than half as much time,” the 2016 Republican presidential candidate said on Tuesday evening’s “The Kelly File” on Fox News.
Mr. Cruz said his campaign has had some 300,000 contributions, with an average contribution of $81.
“One of the reasons I think that our presidential campaign has such tremendous momentum is because speaking the truth and speaking it with a smile has power,” he said.
