CLEVELAND (AP) - The Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians will play a makeup game Oct. 5 at Progressive Field if Cleveland’s playoff hopes are still alive.
The scheduled Sept. 12 game between the teams in Cleveland was postponed by rain. The teams have no mutual off days before the regular season is scheduled to end on Oct. 4.
Cleveland entered Friday four games behind Houston for the AL’s second wild card. The Indians also trail Minnesota and Los Angeles.
The Indians are scheduled to end the season at home against Boston while the Tigers will play the White Sox in Chicago.
