As the White House moves ahead with its nuclear deal with Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit the White House Nov. 9 and meet with President Obama face to face.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest announced the meeting during Wednesday’s press briefing.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the United States is a demonstration of the deep and enduring bonds between the United States and Israel,” Mr. Earnest said.
Mr. Netanyahu has been the chief critic of Mr. Obama’s agreement with Tehran, which calls on Iran to halt parts of its nuclear program in exchange for relief from some economic sanctions. The Israeli leader has said the deal threatens his nation’s security.
Mr. Earnest confirmed the Iran deal will be a key topic of discussion between the two men.
“The president also looks forward to discussing Israel’s relations with the Palestinians, the situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the need for the genuine advancement of a two-state solution,” the White House said in a statement.
