Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush admitted during the second Republican presidential debate that he smoked marijuana decades ago.
“Forty years ago, I smoked marijuana, and I admit it,” Mr. Bush said during a discussion of drug policy. “I’m sure that other [candidates] might have done it, and may not want to say it in front of 25 million people. My mom’s not happy that I just did.”
He said the nation has “a serious epidemic of drugs that goes way beyond marijuana.”
He said the government should play a “consistent role” in providing more treatment options for drug users.
