President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama handed out candy to hundreds of trick-or-treating children on Friday, but one baby’s pope costume caught the president’s eye and earned a special seal of approval.

A baby dressed as Pope Francis — complete with a popemobile — amused Mr. Obama so much that he declared the youngster had earned the “top prize” for best Halloween costume.

The first family — sans costumes — passed out candy to passing princesses, superheroes, fairies, etc., but “Lil’ Pope,” who rolled up the president in his toy popemobile, garnered the most attention, the White House tweeted.

“Top prize!” an amused Mr. Obama declared before posing for a photo with the tiny pope, who received his candy and rolled on.
