The high-school football coach in Washington state who was put on leave for praying after games was at Thursday night’s game — in the stands.

According to photographs tweeted by Seattle Times photographer Lindsey Wasson, assistant coach Joe Kennedy was in the bleachers at Bremerton High School’s game Thursday night.

Heather Graf, a reporter for TV station KING, also tweeted out photos Thursday night and wrote that “Several players came over and embraced Coach Joe Kennedy as he arrived at the game. Not allowed to coach tonight.”

The Bremerton School District put Mr. Kennedy on paid administrative leave this week after he refused to stop taking a knee for 20 seconds on the field after shaking hands with the opposing coaches.
