Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush doubled-down on his attacks against Florida Sen. Marco Rubio for missing Senate votes in his first interview since Wednesday night’s GOP presidential debate.

Mr. Bush was largely criticized by pundits after the debate, who said Mr. Rubio got the better of him during the terse exchange where Mr. Bush questioned whether Mr. Rubio should resign from the Senate and let someone else take the job.

“No, it wasn’t a mistake,” Mr. Bush said when asked if he was wrong to question Mr. Rubio, in an interview on Fox News Thursday.

“It’s a mistake to run for office and not serve. He can do both, but the simple fact is he’s not doing that,” Mr. Bush said. “And a lot of people care about this. A lot of people work in part-time, and they want to work full-time. A lot of people are frustrated with their jobs all across this country but continue to show up to work.

“A lot of people that can’t take time off unless they get a deduction in their pay. That’s the real world. Are we creating a separate alternative universe in Washington, D.C.? That’s part of the problem.”
