President Obama met with Prince Harry of Great Britain Wednesday at the White House, where they discussed upcoming international athletic games for wounded warriors.
Mr. Obama praised the prince’s efforts “to make sure that we see not simply the sacrifices [that service members] have made, but also the incredible contributions and strength and courage that they continue to display.”
The Invictus Games will be held in Orlando, Florida, in May 2016. The first competition was held in London last year.
The prince, who served in the British army in Afghanistan, said organizers had “huge amounts of fun” planning the games. Earlier in the day, he visited Fort Belvoir in Virginia to meet wounded service members with first lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joseph R. Biden.
