BOULDER, Colorado — Donald Trump took a jab at gun-free zones Wednesday, saying they have become targets for “sickos.”
“I feel that the gun-free zones — that’s target practice for the sickos and the mentally ill,” said Mr. Trump at the Republican presidential debate. “They look around for gun-free zones.”
The billionaire businessman said he “might feel more comfortable” if his employees had concealed carry, noting that he has such a permit in New York and that he carries “on occasion.”
“I think gun-free zones are a catastrophe, a feeding frenzy,” Mr. Trump added.
