Authorities in New Jersey are on the lookout for Isidore “Heath” Campbell, a 42-year-old Holland Township resident who previously made headlines when a supermarket refused to bake him a cake for his son that read “Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler.”
Holland Township Police announced this week that the self-proclaimed Nazi had been charged with aggravated assault and that an arrest warrant had been issued in his name.
Through the agency’s official Facebook account, law enforcement said they were searching for Campbell and that anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts should contact the police. Holland Police Chief John Harris told New Jersey 101.5 that Mr. Campbell was being sought in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred Sunday evening, but the chief declined to release further details.
“We have our ideas where (Campbell) might be, but nothing concrete,” said Chief Harris, who added that authorities have been unable to locate Mr. Campbell since informing him of the arrest warrant earlier this week. The police department’s Facebook group has accumulated several comments from account holder who claim they’ve seen him recently around Holland County, near Philadelphia.
Mr. Campbell gained international notoriety in 2008 when a local supermarket rejected an order he had placed for a birthday cake for his son, Adolf Hitler Campbell. That child and two others — JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honzlynn Jeannie Campbell — were later placed in foster care by the state following allegations of domestic violence, which the parents dispute.
When Mr. Campbell later petitioned to have custody of his children, he appeared at a hearing in New Jersey family court wearing a full Nazi outfit complete with swastika-embroidered armbands and knee-high black boots.
Britain’s Daily Mail Online reported that attempts to reach Mr.Campbell by phone this week were unsuccessful, but noted that his outgoing voicemail message signs off with: “Have a nice day, heil Hitler.”
