ASHBURN — Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson’s Los Angeles home was the target of a home invasion this week, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

According to the report, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning and people inside of Jackson’s home fought off the intruders before police arrived. TMZ reported that a law enforcement source believes the incident was gang related.

A call to the Los Angeles police department was not immediately returned.

Jackson has not played in a game for the Redskins since tearing his left hamstring in the season opener and is listed as out for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jackson did not participate in practice this week, but was on the field observing on Wednesday.

“He’s here today and obviously he is concerned,” coach Jay Gruden said on Friday. “He’s letting the law enforcement there take care of it. Obviously some things happened at his house and he’s concerned as every homeowner would be. He’ll get to the bottom it as will the police and we’ll go from there.”

Jackson was not in the locker room during the open media portion after Friday’s practice.
