Carly Fiorina’s presidential campaign announced Tuesday that it raised almost $7 million in the past three months, showing a significant uptick from earlier this year and edging out some rivals, including Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, during the third-quarter money chase.
Sarah Isgur Flores, deputy campaign manager for Ms. Fiorina, made the announcement via Twitter. She said the campaign raised $6.8 million from July 1 through Sept. 30 and had $5.5 million in cash on hand.
Ms. Fiorina received glowing reviews in the opening two Republican presidential debates, and her support rose in national polls.
Her campaign announced the fundraising numbers less than a week after Rubio campaign officials told top donors that the senator from Florida raised $6 million during the third quarter and had $11 million in cash on hand.
The third-quarter haul marked a drop for Mr. Rubio, who reported raising more than $12 million from April through the end of June, easily outpacing Ms. Fiorina’s $1.7 million haul over the same period.
Ben Carson’s campaign, meanwhile, has said the retired neurosurgeon will report raising $20 million, and Ted Cruz’s campaign plans to post $12.2 million. Rand Paul will report pulling in $2.5 million.
