BOSTON (AP) - One of Massachusetts’ greatest sports traditions will be held this year at one of the state’s most hallowed sports venues.

Thanksgiving Day school football is returning to Fenway Park this year for the first time since 1935.

Officials on Thursday announced that four games would be played at the home of the Boston Red Sox, including two on Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving, and two on Thanksgiving Day.

The Nov. 25 games will pit Xaverian Brothers against St. John’s Prep; followed by Boston College High against Catholic Memorial.

The Thanksgiving Day games feature Needham vs. Wellesley, the nation’s oldest public school rivalry that dates to 1882; followed by Boston English vs. Boston Latin, the nation’s oldest continuous public school rivalry, dating to 1887.

This story has been corrected to show that the last time high school football was played at Fenway was 1935, not 1927
