ASHBURN — DeSean Jackson, who strained his left hamstring early in the Washington Redskins’ Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins, has yet to participate in practice even though his timeframe for return was initially set at three to four weeks.

Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, his former team, comes exactly three weeks after Jackson’s injury. His continued absence from practice doesn’t bode well for his availability against the Eagles, but coach Jay Gruden didn’t yet rule him out on Thursday.

“Weirder things have happened, but obviously, he hasn’t practiced in a while, and that’s a concern,” Gruden said. “He is a special football player, and if he says he can go, there’s a chance he could go. We’ll see.”

A relatively healthy Jackson in the lineup could provide a big boost for the Redskins’ offense. In two games against the Eagles last season, Jackson caught a combined nine passes for 243 yards and a touchdown.

Cornerback Chris Culliver, recovering from assorted left leg injuries, did not practice on Thursday, and his status for Sunday is in jeopardy.

Defensive end Kedric Golston (broken hand) remained limited in practice on Thursday, and inside linebacker Perry Riley (strained left calf) did not practice at all. Center Josh LeRibeus (strained left calf) was able to participate in a full practice after being limited the day before.
