New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, though he’s been relegated to the undercard GOP presidential debate Tuesday in Milwaukee, still plans to make an impression.
“As I said last week, we’re not whiners and moaners and complainers in the Christie campaign,” he said Monday on “Fox and Friends.” “Give me a podium, give me a stage, put the camera on, we’ll be just fine.”
“I’ve never had a problem, as you know … making an impression,” Mr. Christie said. “So we’ll make an impression tomorrow night in Milwaukee, we’ll see how it goes, but we’ll talk about the issues that people care about and that’s why we’ve been moving up in the polls in New Hampshire and Iowa, because we’re working hard and we’re talking about the issues people care about.”
Mr. Christie and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee have been bumped to Tuesday’s undercard GOP presidential debate in Milwaukee after failing to meet the required polling threshold to get on the main stage.
They will be joined by former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal in the earlier debate. Neither Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina nor former New York Gov. George Pataki met the polling requirements to qualify for either debate.
