DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - An Illinois editor has taken the top news job at the Quad-City Times in Davenport.

The Times reports (https://bit.ly/1kpomBr ) that Publisher Deb Anselm, who joined the newspaper last week, on Monday announced the selection of Autumn Phillips to become executive editor. Phillips has been editor of the Southern Illinoisian in Carbondale, Illinois. Both of the daily newspapers are properties of Lee Enterprises, which is based in Davenport.

Phillips replaces Jan Touney, who retired in September after a 40-year journalism career.

The 41-year-old Phillips is a native of Wyoming who also has worked at newspapers in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho and Texas over her 13-year career. She says she’s passionate about project and investigative reporting and works to produce “a paper with some meat on the bones.”
