GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina took direct aim at Donald Trump on Sunday, saying the real estate mogul “only feels big when he’s trying to make everyone else look small” and that Mr. Trump’s actions clearly demonstrate he’s not a serious contender for the White House.

Ms. Fiorina’s remarks come days after Mr. Trump came under intense fire for apparently mocking the physical disability of a New York Times reporter. Mr. Trump has vehemently denied those accusations and has said he would never mock anyone’s disability.

But the uproar has given Mr. Trump’s 2016 GOP primary rivals an opening, and Ms. Fiorina pounced on the opportunity Sunday.

“This is the pattern — the pattern is he says something insulting, offensive, outrageous; the media pays attention, then he claims we all misunderstood him; the media pays attention again,” she said on “Fox News Sunday.”

“This is the pattern perhaps of an entertainer. It’s certainly not the pattern of the leader,” Ms. Fiorina continued. “Apparently Donald Trump only feels big when he’s trying to make everyone else look small. Of course, in the end, he looks the smallest of all.”

Over the weekend, Mr. Trump demanded that The New York Times apologize to him for even suggesting for he would mock someone’s disability.

“I would never mock a person that has a disability,” he said Saturday. “I don’t care if I liked the person or I didn’t.”
