President Obama’s job approval rating has fallen 5 points since last month and has dropped back under 50 percent, according to a new survey taken in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

Mr. Obama had a 46 percent job approval rating, with 50 percent disapproving, according to the ABC News-Washington Post poll released Tuesday. He had been at 51 percent approval last month.

The president’s job approval rating has dropped 5 points or more only six times in 67 ABC/Post polls since he took office.

Disapproval of his handling of terrorism has risen from 45 percent in January to 54 percent now, and 57 percent disapprove of his handling of the Islamic State terrorist group.

The survey was taken from Nov. 16-19, in the wake of the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris.
