Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said President Obama was not “meant” for the job of being president and that he’s not a “natural fit” for the White House.

“Personally, I don’t think he was meant for this job, you want to know the truth,” Mr. Trump said on Tuesday evening’s “Hannity” program on Fox News. “The temperament is wrong. I watched that disastrous news conference [Monday] — it was insulting.”

“He wasn’t angry at the killers, the murderers, the animals that did this horrible thing — he was angry at reporters, and I think some of the Republicans, frankly,” Mr. Trump said. “But he was angry at the reporters and I just don’t think … it’s not for him, and unfortunately we have to suffer with it.

“But this job is not for him,” he said. “That was a terrible performance … and an embarrassment to the country.”

Mr. Trump echoed those sentiments Wednesday morning on “Fox and Friends.”

“He’s said a lot of things, and he’s not a good representative. It’s not a natural fit,” he said. “I mean, [here’s] a job description, let me tell you, the job description is not a natural fit for him. It’s not working — hasn’t worked. You look at all of the problems beyond this and now this is the big one, because this is safety and this is life.”

“But you look at of the problems we have with trade, with Obamacare, with all of the things he’s done — it’s been a disaster,” Mr. Trump said.

In an interview published this week in GQ magazine, the term-limited president said he would have relished battling with Mr. Trump in a general election.

“I would’ve enjoyed campaigning against Trump,” Mr. Obama said. “That would’ve been fun.”
