A group of people, including at least three foreign nationals, who were arrested near the German city of Aachen in connection with the Paris attacks have been freed, German police said.
The group of seven suspects, five men and two women, had been detained earlier Tuesday morning on suspicion of terrorism.
A police spokesman said officials had no specific information to link the suspects in custody to the terrorist attacks that killed 129 and injured 352 people in Paris on Friday, according to German news agency Deutche Welle.
Police across Europe are still searching for 26-year-old Salah Abdeslam, the brother of one of the suicide bombers in Paris. He reportedly spent several days in Germany last September.
Mr. Abdeselam is believed to be linked to an Islamic State sleeper cell operating in Europe.
Three other arrests were made in Alsdorf, just northeast of Aachen, Tuesday morning.
Later four more people were detained at another location in Alsdorf, police said, Deutche Welle reported.
At least three of those arrests were foreign nationals.
Aachen is a university town near Germany’s border with the Netherlands and Belgium, about 100 miles east of Brussels, from where the Paris attacks appear to have been organized.
