The Capitol Police asked congressional offices Monday to “remain vigilant” in the wake of the terror attacks in Paris that killed 129 people, saying the complex will “always be an appealing target” although there is no known threat to the building.

In a memo to lawmakers, the agency said members and staff should use “simple precautions” such as using the tunnels that extend to and from the Capitol to Senate and House office buildings, and to let their offices know where they are going.

It also said there will be a more visible police presence around the Capitol and that people should report suspicious activity.

“If something looks amiss, please do not hesitate to bring it to someone’s attention,” the memo said.

The agency said it “continues to be on the highest alert” following the coordinated attacks by suicide bombers and gunmen Friday near a soccer stadium and at a packed concert hall in Paris.

House Speaker Paul Ryan ordered flags at the Capitol to be flown at half-staff in honor of the victims.
