A pro-Putin biker group known as the Night Wolves will ride into Germany for a World War II ceremony after a Berlin court overturned an entry ban on the bikers Wednesday.
The ban, which was struck down in a Berlin administrative court, asserted that they were a threat to public order, domestic security and international relations, The Associated Press reported.
While the ruling can be appealed, the bikers are currently free to ride through the country in celebration of the defeat of Nazi Germany 70 years ago.
The Night Wolves were denied entry into Poland for similar reasons and have been on a list of sanctions put in place by the U.S. Treasury Department since December.
The Night Wolves’ membership is estimated to be 5,000 people. The group’s leader, Alexander “The Surgeon” Zaldostanov, is close with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Mr. Putin even took part in a ride with the group in 2011.
