GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — A woman has been struck and killed by a tractor trailer on the inner loop of the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County.
Police say the accident happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday in Greenbelt. The victim has not been identified.
Investigators are trying to figure out whether the woman was inside a car near the scene before she was struck. Police say a second person at the scene may have been inside the car with the woman. The driver of the tractor trailer remains on the scene.
Two right lanes of the inner loop have been blocked while police continue to investigate and delays are expected to continue through the morning rush hour.
