What did President Obama mean in October 2012 when he said the greatest geopolitical threat to the United States was al Qaeda? Hadn’t he recently been yelling at college kids that al Qaeda had been decimated?

If he believed al Qaeda was the greatest political threat to us, why did he let the danger grow from “JV” to “ISIL”? That happened on his watch. He sat on the intelligence that would have told us how dangerous the Islamic State was — as the threat grew. While experts in the government said otherwise, Mr. Obama continued to proclaim there was “no intel” or that there was “bad intel.” He reportedly refused to go to intel meetings. Mr. Obama has given the terrorists time to grow. He allowed them to become the “state” they are today.
