KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (AP) — Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is getting a house of his own at the family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine.
The Bush family says the likely Republican presidential contender and his family will stay in the cottage on Walker’s Point during summer visits. Bush and his wife also have a home in Coral Gables, Florida.
The Boston Globe first reported on the four-bedroom, 3,000-square-foot home that will become the second-largest home at the compound. It’s being built by a limited partnership; Bush won’t own the property.
Generations of Bushes have spent summers in Kennebunkport.
There are several properties at Walker’s Point, including the home of former President George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara.
Bush’s chief of staff says the former first lady is making room for the “ever-growing family.”
