ANALYSIS

CNN, once mocked as the Clinton New Network for its consistently pro-Bubba coverage, is at it again.

On Tuesday, the “news” site declared that “Iowa shrugs off Clinton controversies.”

The news item filed from Cedar Falls, Iowa, said that while reporters were frustrated by Hillary dodging them for a month, “it’s not having much impact here.”

So did CNN take a scientific poll of some 1,000 people to determine that sentiment? Nuh uh. They asked Tom Henderson, the Democratic chairman in Polk County.

“I don’t think that’s a widespread concern by most voters,” he said.

“Many Iowans,” the story said, “seemed to meet Clinton’s interactions and non-interactions with the press with little more than a shrug.”
But wait, there’s more.

” ’Most of us think it’s a pretty moot point. Lots of us have tons of emails,’ said Brad Magg, the owner of Goldie’s Ice Cream Shoppe and Magg Family Catering,” CNN wrote. Well, that’s at least a regular Joe. But no, he was “a participant in a Cedar Falls, Iowa, roundtable on Tuesday” held by Clinton.

At the end of the piece, we got this spectacular reporting, in which Dean Genth of Mason City, Iowa, summed up how he felt about Hillary’s launch.

“I think it is absolutely perfect,” he said. “She needs to have the small events first. With her resume and her viability and the Secret Service protection she requires, she will definitely be doing the big rallies at some point. But I think she is right to start with small events in a grassroots way.”

Oh, Genth “hosted a Clinton house party Monday.”

Well, case closed.
