An Army officer from Fort Bragg over the weekend helped pull two people from a burning vehicle while in fitting attire: a “Captain America” T-shirt.
Capt. Steve Voglezon came to the rescue Sunday in Chatham County, North Carolina, when he pulled William Thompson and his wife from their wrecked vehicle.
“I grabbed one of the fire extinguishers and we smashed out on the back window and the driver’s side window,” the officer said, ABC News reported. “There wasn’t a real plan, I just had tunnel vision.”
Capt. Voglezon told ABC that his training helped him react, but gave credit to others who selflessly ran towards the fire.
“I was just at the right place at the right time. People do this every day at the fire department. I wasn’t alone out there, there were at least 10 of us in the community working together,” he said, ABC reported.
Everyone involved in the crash survived, the station reported.
