VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Beach-based global relief group Operation Blessing International is joining the Navy aboard the hospital ship USNS Comfort on a humanitarian mission.

Operation Blessing will provide medical, water, disaster relief training, transportation and other needs to four nations in the Caribbean and Central America.

The Comfort departed Norfolk in April on a six-month voyage.

Operation Blessing is one of many charities and non-governmental organizations participating in the Navy’s Operation Promise 2015 mission.
