ATLANTA — John Wall finished warming up right around the time it was officially announced he will be active for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the top-seeded Atlanta Hawks.

Wall suffered five fractures in his left wrist and hand after a fall in Game 1 and has not played since. He warmed up Wednesday night with a light black wrap on the injured hand, which he eventually removed. Wall took a variety of jump shots, testing the hand with floaters before going through his regular routine.

Wizards coach Randy Wittman said pregame that Wall’s availability would be a game-time decision. Wittman reiterated that if there was any concern about long-term damage to a player, that’s always the consideration over short-term needs, even in a playoff series.

The series is tied 2-2. Washington is 1-2 against the Hawks without Wall.
