RICHMOND — Jonquel Jones had 16 points and 15 rebounds, Hannah Schaible had 16 points and eight rebounds and top-seeded No. 21 George Washington advanced to the championship game of the Atlantic 10 tournament with a 72-60 win over No. 4 seed Fordham on Saturday.

Chakecia Miller added 11 points and Caira Washington had 10 points and eight rebounds for the top-seeded Colonials (28-3), who won their fifth consecutive game. They will face either Duquesne or Dayton in Sunday’s championship game.

Fordham (20-11) was led by Tiffany Ruffin with 14 points. Samantha Clark and Emily Tapio had 11 apiece before fouling out.

The Rams led by four points midway through the first half when George Washington reeled off 12 consecutive points and took a 33-25 lead at the break. Jones’ basket at the 14:39 mark started an 8-0 surge with four different Colonials scoring, and the lead stayed in double figures until the closing minutes.
