Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican and a possible 2016 GOP presidential candidate, is out with a new book this summer titled “A Time for Truth: Reigniting the Miracle of America.”

HarperCollins Publishers told The Associated Press a June 30 release date is set for the book; other potential GOP contenders in 2016 who have published books recently include Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

“Men and women are frustrated with career politicians in both parties who are not listening to them,” Mr. Cruz told the AP, saying the themes of a possible White House candidacy are “certainly reflected in this book.”

The tea party favorite also said he wants to counter the “caricatures” of the right as “stupid,” “evil” or “crazy.”

“The image created in the mainstream media does not comply with the facts,” he said.

Mr. Cruz said the book will include stories about Anwar Sadat, Elie Wiesel and other people who “had the courage” to speak out at personal risk — vignettes that he said draw upon “an aspect of what [then-Sen. John] Kennedy did” in his book, “Profiles in Courage.”
