Virginia star Justin Anderson will have to wait to make his return.
Anderson had an appendectomy on Thursday. He will not play Saturday when the second-ranked Cavaliers close the regular season at No. 16 Louisville.
Anderson had missed the seven prior games because of a fractured finger. His status for next week’s ACC tournament is to be determined, the school announced.
Virginia (28-1, 16-1 ACC) has won every game Anderson, its second-leading scorer, has missed. He broke his finger in the Cavaliers’ last game against Louisville, a 52-47 victory on Feb. 7.
