Comedian Jon Stewart joked Wednesday that “Future President Hillary Clinton may have to pardon former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,” over revelations she exclusively used personal email during her time at the State Department.

The New York Times reported March 2 that Mrs. Clinton may have broken federal record-keeping rules by using her personal email to conduct all official business.

On Thursday, The Associated Press added to the scandal by saying Mrs. Clinton filtered her emails through a server that was traced back to her home in New York.

“I think the concern there is that the aides are the ones that get to decide which emails are appropriate to be shared as opposed to an independent arbiter,” Mr. Stewart said Thursday, Mediaite reported. “That is why Doritos doesn’t get to decide which ingredients consumers need to know about, or why you don’t get to tell the cops which pocket to search.”

On Wednesday night, Mrs. Clinton tweeted: “I want the public to see my email. I asked State to release them. They said they will review them for release as soon as possible.”
