Washington Wizards power forward Kris Humphries is expected to return to game action on Wednesday for the first time since Feb. 25. Humphries has missed 16 consecutive games because of a groin strain.
Humphries said Tuesday that he has been working out hard for three consecutive days. He was a full participant in Tuesday’s practice, which included a lengthy scrimmage.
“I think I am going to be out there [Wednesday] and just see how it goes,” Humphries said.
Wizards coach Randy Wittman said Humphries will be assessed Wednesday before being cleared to play, though he expects him to be able to do so. Humphries is averaging 8.1 points and 6.7 rebounds in his first season with the Wizards.
Guard Garrett Temple (hamstring) did not practice Tuesday. Point guard Will Bynum (hamstring) did and is likely to be available Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
