Going full speed late in the first quarter, Bradley Beal slipped, twisted his right ankle and went to the ground. The Wizards, sufferers of multiple layers of misery in the second half of the season, watched Beal limp off the court. He had sprained his right ankle and was out for the rest of the game.
Afterward, Beal left the locker room with a slight limp, but no walking boot or crutches. Wizards coach Randy Wittman said Beal would be looked at again Thursday. Beal has played only 54 games this season because of various injuries.
Guards Garrett Temple (hamstring), Toure’ Murry (ankle) and power forward Kris Humphries (groin) were also out of Wednesday night’s 103-101 loss against the Indiana Pacers.
“They’re getting better,” Wittman said before the game. “Temp probably [out] longer than Hump, but Temp’s made great improvement the week we were just out [on a road trip]. When you’re dealing with a hamstring, you got to make sure. I’m not good at telling you it’s going to be a week. It’s going to be five days, you’re going to call me a liar.
“We haven’t had any setbacks. That’s a good thing.”
