Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal came out of his first game in almost three weeks feeling fine. Beal played 32:31 in Saturday’s win against the Detroit Pistons. It was his first game since big toe and lower right fibula injuries forced him off the court Feb. 5.
Beal practiced Monday and said his legs felt good. He is trying to regain his cardiovascular conditioning and rhythm. Beal was just 2-for-10 from the field against Detroit, including a couple wide open shots from behind the 3-point line that he missed.
“My play has to get better,” Beal said. “It’s going to get better and better each and every day.”
Power forward Kris Humphries has not improved, according to Wizards coach Randy Wittman. Humphries (strained left groin) did not practice Monday and is not expected to play Tuesday against the Chicago Bulls. Humphries has missed two consecutive games.
“He didn’t improve too much the last two days,” Wittman said. “Again, it’s just one of those things. He’s OK moving forward, now he just needs to get some lateral movement with it. We’ll see. Take it day by day.”
