Real estate and reality television mogul Donald Trump said Wednesday he’s launching a presidential exploratory committee ahead of a possible 2016 White House run.
Saying the country is in “serious trouble,” Mr. Trump said Americans deserve better than what they get from their politicians, “who are all talk and no action,” and that he is the only one “who can make “America truly great again.”
Mr. Trump has teased potential presidential runs before, but in other moves, he has also secured staff in the early presidential states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.
According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, Mr. Trump also put off renewing his NBC “Apprentice” series and is scheduled to travel to New Hampshire on Thursday to meet with a group of local veterans and business owners.
Along with Mr. Trump, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson also recently launched an exploratory committee as he weighs a possible presidential run on the GOP side, and GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham has formed a committee to help him “test the waters” on a potential run.
