MEDFORD, Ore. — A Southern Oregon man has lost his driver’s license for life after a series of run-ins with police.
Jackson County Circuit Judge Kelly Ravassipour told 34-year-old William Clark Smith of Jacksonville this week his life was “spiraling out of control,” and he was a danger to the community whenever he was out on the streets.
The Mail Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1AFeLYK) Smith offered a police officer $200 and the dirt bike in the back of his truck to let him go after being pulled over for drunken driving.
He was also arrested after smashing a woman’s vehicle with a 2-by-4 in Jacksonville and speeding away from police in Medford at 100 mph on his motorcycle.
Smith must also pay $7,404 and serve 180 days in jail.
