SAN FRANCISCO — Running back Reggie Bush has reached a deal with the San Francisco 49ers, according to a person with knowledge of the agreement.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday and didn’t provide details. Bush visited the team Wednesday and could be seen touring outside Levi’s Stadium with new San Francisco coach Jim Tomsula.
He joins a 49ers team that lost Frank Gore in free agency to the Colts, left guard Mike Iupati to the Arizona Cardinals and a pair of cornerbacks who are now gone, too — Chris Culliver, who signed with the Washington Redskins on Friday, and Perrish Cox.
Linebacker Patrick Willis also will not return next season after having retired on Tuesday.
Bush played in only 11 games with nine starts last season with the Lions because of injuries. He carried 76 times for 297 yards and two touchdowns.
He wrote Saturday on Twitter, “The best is yet to come.”
